POS Rental for Events
and Temporary Trading.

A POS rental is the whole point of sale, not just a till. A daily rental is delivered and collected, with payment integration included and a technician on call while you trade. For a festival or a multi-stall market, our event POS hire kits add touchscreen terminals with receipt printers, card and tap payments, battery backup and on-site support for the run of the event, scaled from one stall upward. Which rental fits how long you are trading

A day or a weekend: a daily rental, quoted for your dates, terminal count and support needs. A few weeks to a few months: a monthly rental from R995 per month excluding VAT, month to month with no long-term lock-in. Temporary that may become permanent: rent-to-own, so the payments go towards owning the equipment if the pop-up becomes a shop. Short rentals are also simpler on paper. The IFRS Foundation's summary of IFRS 16 says a lessee recognises assets and liabilities for leases with a term of more than 12 months, unless the asset is of low value. An event or seasonal rental of 12 months or less falls outside that requirement. Ask your accountant how a longer rental or a rent-to-own contract is treated in your books.

Planning a temporary site in South Africa

Start with the paperwork, because it sets your timeline. In Cape Town, the City's Events Cape Town FAQ says you need an event permit for more than 200 participants, amplified sound or temporary structures, and that a small event of 200 to 2,000 people must apply at least three weeks (21 days) before the day. Other municipalities set their own rules, so check with yours. Book the POS at the same time as the permit and we can plan the terminal count, the menu or price list and staff training before the gates open.

Then plan for the power. Check Eskom's load-shedding status and schedules for the venue's area before the event, and ask for battery backup on every terminal that has to keep selling through an outage. Tell us if the venue has weak signal or no Wi-Fi, so we can plan how card payments will connect on the day.
